Happy Tuesday, friends! Today I am sharing my budget-friendly holiday decor mood board.
I am so excited to decorate for the holidays. I have a few holiday decorations from my old office in Louisiana, but this is my first time decorating a whole place. I’m really excited about it and want to go all out. But like, budget-friendly all out, lol. Thankfully, Target has plenty of cute and affordable holiday decor options. I was able to stock up on super cute decor without completely blowing my November budget, which is a major win!
As I’ve mentioned before, my home decor style has been super neutral. This was intentional, and I’m really happy with the decision to stick to neutrals! I know we have a few more moves in us over the next few years and don’t want to end up in a situation where our furniture looks out of place in our home. Additionally, I’m sure my style will evolve a bit over time and I don’t want to commit to say, a pink velvet couch, that I end up hating before I can afford to replace it.
My plan for our holiday decor this year was to keep things super cozy and classic and to use it to inject a little color in our space. Even though I love white Christmas decorations, I chose to stay away from them this year. We have a lot of white in our house, and while white is beautiful, it can look a little cold if there isn’t enough texture and dimension in the room. Trust me, I’d love to buy out Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn’s entire neutral holiday decor stock, but that isn’t in the budget this year.
Without further ado, let’s get to the mood board!
Budget-friendly Holiday Mood Board
I’m super happy with the way this budget-friendly holiday decor mood board turned out, and with how the pieces look in our living room! I haven’t had a chance to completely decorate yet, but I’ve broken out a few of the pieces to see how they work. I already love how our space looks with just a few pieces added, which makes me really excited to see the final room!
The couch and rug you see are what we already had in our room. I highly recommend finding pictures of your core pieces online before making a decor mood board! This really helped me get an idea of how the colors would look together. My original plan used more of the decorations I already had, and while it was cute, it came off a little too cold and modern. I want this holiday season to feel super cozy, homey, and cheerful. I want to feel the childhood Christmas magic!
What’s your holiday decor style? I’d love to see what you’re planning to put together this season!
