Today I’m sharing a classic fall wedding guest outfit idea! Is it just me, or do all brides-to-be find themselves planning out the outfits they wish guests would wear to their wedding? I was supposed to get married in Puerto Rico this past June, but, for obvious reasons, we rescheduled. I truly can’t wait for our wedding next year! However, I am currently obessing over all of the beautiful weddings I’ve seen on social media (backyard, especially – see Carly’s!). Since I have another year to dream of what our guests will wear, I think this is the perfect time to fantasize about what I would want someone to wear to my whatever-the-season wedding!
When I am dreaming up these outfits, I typically envision close friends and family wearing something comfortable, classic, and flattering. In my opinion, there are few things worse than when I feel uncomfortable in my outfit, especially at a wedding. Those pictures are forever, y’all!
On that note, I love the easy, laid-back, yet elegant styles I see wedding guests wearing lately. It might just be the photography, but I think the guests looking comfortable really makes the pictures extra beautiful! One big thing I’ve noticed, which is probably a natural consequence of weddings moving to backyards, is that it seems no one is wearing heels!
I’m calling it now, heels are dead. I used to wear heels every.single.day., and I truly love the look! But, now that I’ve exclusively worn birkenstocks and slippers for 6 months?! You’ll only catch me in heels if they’re ultra-comfortable. I’m not sure how I convinced myself to wear heels the whole night at every wedding I’ve ever been to, but I can just about guarantee that those days are over.
This is exactly what I think of when I think of a classic fall wedding guest outfit. I would love to see my (imaginary) fall wedding guests wear something like this. Classic, laid-back, flowy, and comfortable? Sold.
If you like the outfit above, I have great news for you. The ENTIRE Mango website is currently 30%! I’ve already done some damage…which I can’t wait to share once it comes in!
