Do you have or are you considering getting a Kindle or another eReader?
After a long hiatus, I got back into reading this past June. I was a voracious bookworm starting in third grade when I was introduced to Little House on the Prarie, and kept it up through my freshman year of high school. My reading volume progressively decreased through high school and college, and eventually, I was only reading maybe one book a year. Then, the pandemic happened, and I suddenly found myself with a lot more free time on my hands. My love for reading has reemerged, and I’m proud to say I read 25 books this summer!
I’ve read quite a few books over the past few months, and most of them have been through the Libby app on my phone. I love to read new releases, but gosh the price can really add up. I calculated it out and using Libby has saved me about $425! I love reading and enjoyed most of the books I read, but I’m a fast reader, so a 300ish page book only takes me half a day or so to knock out. Also, I definitely don’t have an extra $425 laying around!
As much as I love getting the books for free through Libby, I am getting sick of having to use my phone to read. I have an older iPhone with a smaller screen, and I’m generally always on my phone anyway; I hate seeing my already high screen time numbers shoot up even higher whenever I’m reading something. However, recently found out that you can download books onto a Kindle device via Libby! So, I’m considering investing in a Kindle Paperwhite.
I know there are cheaper options for kindles that are not waterproof, as well as more versatile models that you can use for more than just reading, but I like the idea of being able to use it in the bathtub as part of a cozy bath routine – and I don’t need another way to watch tv, lol.
Do you have a Kindle? Is there another eReader I should consider? Can you talk me out of this $130 purchase?! I need all the advice!
